How to Put a Proposal On Hold (Without Marking It Lost)

You can now put a proposal On Hold.

This is one a handful of you have asked for over the years. A proposal isn't dead, but it isn't moving right now either. It's not Lost, it's not Canceled. It just needs to sit for a while, maybe a few months, until the timing is right.

How to set a proposal to On Hold

Open the More menu on a proposal and choose On Hold from the flyout. That's the whole thing.

On Hold is a real status, not a tag or a workaround. It sits alongside Draft, Sent, Pending, Canceled, Won, and Lost, and it shows up on the proposal like any other.

Why it helps

It keeps the proposal out of your active pipeline and out of your head, without forcing you to mark it as dead. Your win/loss numbers stay clean, because a deal that's waiting on a client's budget cycle was never really a loss.

When it's time to pick it back up, switch the status back to Sent.

Small feature, but a real "get it out of my brain" win for a lot of you who asked.

While you're in there: star your proposals

Sort of related, and worth knowing if you missed it: you can star proposals. Hit the star on the left of any row in your proposal list and those float to the top. Handy for the deals you don't want to lose track of.

Between starring, proposal numbers, and now On Hold, your proposal list can do a lot more sorting for you than it used to.
